Description
This syllable division bundle has everything you need to help you teach syllable division rules in your Orton Gillingham lessons. With this multisensory instructional approach, your students will learn how to blend and segment syllables to read multisyllabic words which will boost their reading fluency.
Included in this bundle:
Syllable Division Posters– This product includes several brightly colored posters that explain what a syllable is, define the types of syllable division, and provide easy-to-remember rules and examples for each of the types.
Syllable Division Worksheets– These worksheets provide over 100 pages of practice through a variety of syllable division worksheets and activities using each of the six syllable division patterns: VCCV, VCV, VCCCV, VV, -Cle, and Compound Words.
Syllable Division Exit Tickets– Each exit ticket provides syllable division examples for students to show what they understand. After teaching syllable division rules, review the directions on the corresponding exit ticket and have students complete as they leave the room or during their free time. Hang blank exit tickets on the ticket holder (included in this product). Students take a ticket, complete it, and hang it back up on the ticket holder for you to grade.
Interactive Notebooks– These syllable division interactive pages are a fun way to practice and reinforce syllable division concepts. Each syllable division rule contains 3-4 activities, a set of mini-posters, an overview (with complete directions for each activity) and answer key page, and a how-to video for every activity within each notebook.
Syllable Division Words and Sentences– Each syllable division rule word list contains an aligned list (which only includes words containing phonograms previously taught in The Multisensory Classroom Scope and Sequence) and a flexible word list (includes some words with phonograms not yet covered in the scope and sequence for students who may be stronger readers). Both lists can be used on their own, with The Multisensory Classroom Scope and Sequence, or with any other reading/phonics program.
Syllable Division Decodable Passages– Each decodable passage highlights a specific syllable division rule. These texts are flexible and contain words with phonograms and skills that have been introduced in The Multisensory Classroom Scope and Sequence up to the point where each syllable division rule is introduced. They also include some more advanced words, but the difficulty level was carefully assessed to be in line with any reading program where these syllable division rules would normally be covered.
