Do you need some fun and engaging color word activities for your kindergarten students? Color words are found in almost all early reader books, and recognizing them helps young readers develop reading fluency.
This bundle integrates multisensory techniques into a variety of activities, posters, and worksheets that engage each child’s learning style.
The following resources are included in this resource:
- Posters
- A colorful set of individual color posters
- One poster for each color: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, white, pink, brown, gray
- Activities
- Color Puzzles- match the paint color with its color word
- Match My Color- roll the dice and use the key to determine which squares to color. This activity includes a detailed instruction page that provides multiple ways to play with one student or a group of students.
- Worksheets

- Picture by Color- use the color words to color the page and see the picture (7 pages)
- Cut, Trace, and Color- identify the word, color the word and corresponding picture, practice writing the word, and cut out the letters to spell the word (one page for each color)
- Color Words- color each crayon the color that’s written on it and practice writing the word
- Sentences

- Read each color word sentence, color the pictures and color word and match the pictures with each sentence (there is one page for each color so students have lots of practice!)
