Sight words are so tricky! Many students have a lot of trouble remembering them, especially those who have difficulty with visual memory. Adding pictures to sight words and teaching them in context can make a huge difference for your little learners.

These sight word flash cards can be printed double-sided (picture/word on front, word on back) or single-sided (just word/picture on front) which gives a variety of teaching options.

I like to introduce all the sight words we will be learning that week on Monday. I introduce the words with their pictures and read the sentences that go with them. This way students are learning these sight words in context. We review the weekly sight words with the pictures on Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday, I turn the cards over so just the words are showing. By Friday, the students have those words down!
