Description
These phonogram cards are perfect for multisensory reading instruction as children greatly benefit from having pictures to associate with letter sounds. Use as a quick drill with students by having them say the name of the letter (or group of letters), the keyword picture, and the sound it makes (Ex: a-apple-/a/). Cards are 2.5″x4″ and print 8 to a page.
This product includes three resources:
- 3 sets* of 120 Phonogram Cards:
- Set 1- color images with white backgrounds: keyword pictures that coordinate with the phonograms are in full color on white backgrounds.
- Set 2- color images with color backgrounds: keyword pictures are in full color; consonants on a turquoise background, vowels on a pink background, and glued sounds on a mustard yellow background
- Set 3- black and white images with white backgrounds: keyword pictures are in black and white on white backgrounds. These cards are organized into three separate files (consonants, vowels, glued sounds). Each file may be printed on colored cardstock (ideally a similar-colored cardstock as the background color on the color phonogram cards).
*Each of these sets also comes with a file of single-sided and double-sided phonogram cards. When the double-sided cards are printed (by setting printer to print on both sides of the paper), they will have the phonogram and keyword picture on the front side and just the phonogram on the back side; the single-sided cards only have the phonogram and keyword picture on the one side.
- Prefix and Suffix Cards:
- 21 total cards
- Suffix cards include: en; -es; -est; -er; -ed as /ed/; -ed as /t/; ed as /d/; review ed as /d/, /t/, & /ed/; -ing; -ly; -ness; -ment; -ful; -s; -tion, sion (as /shun/ and /zhun)
- Prefix cards include: un-, re-, mis-, dis-, in-, pre-
All prefix/suffix cards come in 3 color options: color images with white backgrounds; color images with color backgrounds; black and white images with white backgrounds
Each of the 3 color options of prefix and suffix cards also comes with a file of single-sided and double-sided cards.
- At-a-Glance Charts:
- Alphabet-At-a-Glance: a 1-page quick reference guide containing all the alphabet phonograms, their keyword pictures, and a pronunciation guide for each phonogram
- Phonograms-At-a-Glance: a 1-page quick reference guide containing the rest of the phonograms, their keyword pictures, and pronunciation guides for each phonogram
