Description

To be diagnostic and prescriptive in your instruction, it’s important to have a solid organizational system to keep track of the skills your students have not yet learned, what they need to review, and what they have mastered.

These Orton-Gillingham card dividers are the perfect solution to help you keep track of phonogram cards, sight word cards, word cards, or any other skill cards you are using with your students.

These card dividers are also EDITABLE in POWERPOINT, so if you have additional cards that need to be organized, you can change the titles on the dividers or add your own to fit your needs.

Here is how I use these cards:

Because I use phonogram cards, sight word cards, and word cards in every Orton-Gillingham lesson, I make a copy of each set of cards for each individual student or group of students that I teach and place them in a 4×6 box. I then use these card dividers to organize each set of cards (phonogram, sight word, or word card) into three categories:

  1. To Introduce- these are phonograms, sight words, or word cards that I plan to introduce within the next several lessons. They are placed behind this section so they are ready to use.
  2. To Review- these are phonograms, sight words, or word cards that the student has not yet mastered and needs to review during future lessons.
  3. Mastered- these are phonograms, sight words, or word cards the student has mastered. However, I periodically pull cards out of this section and place them into the “To Review” section to help get these skills into my students’ long-term memory.

There is also a card divider for “Warm Up” if you are using any vocabulary words, b/d reversal flash cards, etc.
