Multisyllable words can be a challenge for students to decode. Learning where to divide these words and how to decode each syllable will dramatically boost reading fluency. 

This product includes several brightly colored syllable division posters that explain what a syllable is, define the types of syllable division, and provide easy-to-remember rules and examples for each type. This product includes the following items:

  1. Individual Syllable Division Posters- includes one syllable division type/rule on each poster except VCCV is split into two posters: one with VC/CV and one with V/CCV and VCC/V. Includes a set of black and white and a set of colored posters for each.
  2. All-In-One Syllable Division Posters- includes all six syllable division rules on one poster. There are two variations of this poster: One that only includes the most common VCCV rule (VC/CV) and one that includes VC/CV as well as VCC/V and V/CCV. Both posters come in color and in black and white. 
  3. What is a Syllable Poster- defines what syllables are and how to identify them (with examples). Includes a color and black and white set. 

Six syllable division types: VCCV (VC/CV, V/CCV & VCC/V), VCV (V/CV & VC/V), VV, VCCCV, Compound Words, and Consonant -le Words
