Exit Tickets: Rhyming Words

Description

Your students will love exit tickets! These tickets are a great way to quickly assess what your students have learned and where they need additional instruction—and they’re perfect for young students to complete on their own.

After teaching the students about rhyming identification and production, review the directions on the corresponding rhyme exit tickets and go over each of the pictures on the ticket. Hang blank exit tickets on the ticket holder (included in this product). Students take a ticket, complete it, and hang it back on the ticket holder for you to grade.

Included in this product:

  • 4 different sets of rhyming exit tickets:
  1. Yes or No- (14 tickets, 4 of each per page) these tickets are ideal for introducing your students to the rhythm of language and helps them develop phonemic awareness as they identify the rhyming pair in each row.
  2. Picture pairs- (10 tickets, 4 of each per page) these tickets provide additional practice in phonemic awareness as students identify multiple rhyming pairs.
  3. Picture Word Match- (10 tickets, 4 of each per page) these tickets shift from sounds only (phonemic awareness) to the written symbol of letters (phonics) as students circle the words that rhyme with the pictures.
  4. Create Your Own- (10 tickets, 4 of each per page) these tickets are perfect for extending student understanding as students draw a picture or write a word that rhymes with the pictures.
  • Data Tracking Sheets and Answer Keys- this data tracking assessment tool allows you to track responses to each ticket in all 4 sets to gauge students’ understanding of the covered rhyming skills.
  • Ticket Holder- this cute ticket holder poster makes using exit tickets distraction free and efficient in the classroom. Just hang the new tickets on the “take one” hook for students to take anytime after a lesson has been taught. They can place the ticket back on the “return one” hook after they’ve completed it (hooks not included). Print ticket holder on 8.5 x 11 cardstock paper, cut out, glue together, and laminate to create a 10” x 23” poster (choose the “poster” setting size when printing, which will print the holder onto 6 pages).
