Exit Tickets: Alphabet

$3.00

Description

My students are in love with exit tickets—yours will be too! These tickets are a great way to quickly assess what your students have learned and where they need additional instruction—and they’re perfect for your young students to complete on their own.

After teaching beginning sounds or letters, review the directions on the corresponding alphabet exit ticket and go over each of the pictures on the ticket with students. Hang blank exit tickets on the ticket holder (included in this product). Students take a ticket, complete it, and hang it back up on the ticket holder for you to grade.

Included in this product:

  • Two different sets of alphabet tickets. Each set includes 26 tickets (one ticket for each letter in the alphabet)
  1. Beginning Sounds Exit Tickets- these tickets are ideal for introducing your students to exit tickets and are perfect for use with students who are just learning beginning sounds. This is a great phonemic awareness assessment because the focus is exclusively on sounds rather than printed letters.
  2. Beginning Letters Exit Tickets- these tickets are ideal for using after introducing the letters associated with beginning sounds. These exit tickets assess two skills:
    • matching lowercase and uppercase letters
    • identifying and writing the correct letter for the beginning sound in a word (note that x is included but as an ending sound since x is not a beginning sound).
  • Data Tracking Sheets and Answer Keys- each set includes a data tracking sheet assessment tool to gauge each student’s understanding of the alphabet letters and sounds.
  1. Beginning Sounds Data Tracking– place a check mark (or give points) to identify each student’s mastery of beginning sounds. Each ticket includes six pictures—with three of the pictures containing the correct beginning sound being assessed.
  2. Beginning Letters Data Tracking each letter has two boxes for assessment. The top box is for assessing a student’s ability to write the correct letter; the bottom box is for assessing a student’s ability to identify each lowercase letter with its matching uppercase letter.
  3. Answer Keys– both sets include an answer key that lists the names of the pictures on each ticket. The words for the correct pictures are bolded.
  • Ticket Holder- this cute ticket holder poster makes using exit tickets distraction free and efficient in the classroom. Just hang the new tickets up on the “take one” hook and have students take the tickets anytime after a lesson has been taught. They can place the ticket back on the “return one” hook after they have completed it (hooks are not included). This ticket holder should be printed on 8.5 x 11 cardstock paper (choose the “poster” setting size, which will print the holder onto 6 pages), cut out, glued together, and laminated to create a 10” x 23” poster.
